Nirpreet Kaur: a witness of Sikh genocide 1984

New Delhi (April 23, 2012): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is reported to have argued (on April 21, 2012) before a Delhi court that a woman witness in the Delhi 1984 Sikh massacre, Nirpreet Kaur had deposed that she had seen senior Congress leader Sajjan Kumar addressing a mob and provoking to attack and kill the Sikhs.

“CBI counsel R. S. Cheema argued before District and Sessions Judge J R Aryan that Ms Kaur had also deposed that she has heard Sajjan Kumar saying, ‘no Sardar (Sikh) should be left alive” reports UNI.

Kill all Sikhs as they have killed my mother (the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi).’ The Judge was hearing the trial into the killing of six people in Delhi Cantonment area during the Delhi 1984 Sikh massacre.

Sajjan Kumar and five others are facing trial in the case.

Nirpreet Kaur’s father was burnt alive during the genocidal violace against Sikhs.

Earlier, Nirpareet Kaur had identified the senior Congress leader and the three others who had instigated the mob during the Sikh Genocide 1984.

It is notable that the culprits of planned genocidal violence against Sikhs in November 1984 have enjoyed impunity under state patronage. Many including Jagdish Titlar and Kamal Nath did not even faced trial.
