Bathinda, Punjab (August 31, 2014): A couple of days after Haryana government appointed Jora Singh as chairman of Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Judicial Commission (HSGJC), Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, on Sunday, opposed the move.
Jalandhar, Punjab (August 31, 2014): During a state level meeting of Aam Aadmi Party here on Sunday, the party leadership has decided to provide legal aid to Vikram Kumar alias Babbi, who had hurled shoe at Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal at Issru on August 15.
Islamabad, Pakistan (August 31, 2014): At least two protesters were killed and 450 others were killed following a crackdown on the protesters by the police on Sunday. However, cleric Tahir-ul-Qadri claimed that seven of his supporters were killed in the clashes. The clashes took place after Imran Khan and Qadri directed supporters to rush to Nawaz Sharif’s residence.
Media reports are suggesting that discontent has been brewing in the SAD-BJP camp in Punjab over various issues, including the switching of sides by senior leader PS Gill and imposition of property and advance taxes in the state.

Srinagar, Kashmir (August 31, 2014): The Legislative Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir reportedly witnessed a war of words between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) over RSS chief’s Hindu nationality remarks. BJP legislators reportedly resorted to raising Hindutva slogans in legislative assembly of the state.
After few hours of publishing the news release sent to the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) by the Braveheart Production, the SSN received an email from Kuljinder Sidhu, actor-producer of Punjabi blockbuster Sadda Haq (2013). In his email to Sikh Siyasat News, Kuljinder Sidhu said that he was already working on a similar project.

Mansa, Punjab (August 29, 2014): Baba Baljeet Singh Daduwal was again presented in the court of ACMS Kuldeep Singh Cheema today by the Mansa district police. He was sent commanded judicial custody in a 2011 Bhikhi case, in which the court had granted his one day police remand yesterday, however the police was able to get police remand of Baba Daduwal in a fresh case.
