Chandigarh: Crisis in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is refusing to end as former Punjab unit in charge Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi has decided to quit the party. Gurpreet Ghuggi was removed as Punjab state in charge with Sangur MP Bhagwant Mann few days back.
Announcing his decision Gurpreet Ghuggi told reporters that he had appealed to Sanjay Singh and other party leaders multiple times that we should request Sucha Singh Chhotepur to comeback to the party but my voice was not heard.
“I asked them to allow me to campaign for the party rather than looking after the day to day organisational affairs. I have nothing against Bhagwant Mann or any other party leader,” Ghuggi said.
Gurpreet Ghuggi claimed that he had told Arvind Kejriwal about the ‘wrongdoings’ of Delhi observers Ashish Khetan, Sanjay Singh and Durgesh Pathak during Punjab election but no action was taken.
He said that his repeated requests to re-induct Dr. Dharamvira Gandhi in the Aam Aadmi Party were ignored by party high command.
He said that Sukhpal Khaira was right choice for state unit president and he had favoured Khaira for the post but his requests were ignored.
Gurpreet Ghuggi had contested Assembly election in Punjab from Batala seat but stood third in the contest. The seat was bagged by Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) contestant Lakhbir Singh Lodhinangal.
