Hoshiarpur: The chief of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) here on Monday has challenged Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh to get former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal arrested following the findings of Justice Ranjit Singh’s report in which Parkash Singh Badal is held guilty in Behbal Kalan police firing, which claimed lives of two youths in Faridkot in 2015.
Referring to the recent allegations of the CM that Badal was behind the unwarranted police firing during the anti-Beadbi (sacrilege) protests, he said if Amarinder Singh really meant it, he should ask the police to arrest Parkash Badal.
“An FIR has already been registered in the case. If Amarinder feels that Badal is the main culprit, he should get him arrested,” he reportedly said on Monday.
While interacting with the mediapersons he stated that there was a tacit understanding between the Centre and the state government. “If Amarinder dares to proceed against the Badal family or any BJP leader, the Centre will up ante against his son and him and use agencies like Enforcement Directorate to nail them in corruption cases,” he further added.
Apparently, on the current tense situation on the Sikkim border Simranjit Singh Mann purportedly said that the Centre must resolve the situation as soon as possible to avoid war.
