Chandigarh: A language activist Baljeet Singh Khalsa was reportedly arrested today by Chandigarh police for blackening boards in Hindi and English language.
As per initial reports Baljeet Singh Khalsa had put black paint on boards outside Chandigarh deputy commissioner’s office as a token of protest against sidelining the Punjabi language in the city that build on the land of Punjab.
Baljeet Singh has been peacefully demanding that the administration should write all informational boards in the city in Punjabi also as the Chandigarh administration has informational boards only in English and Hindi.
