Batala: As per the media reports the supporters of the Nurmahal Jalandhar based Divya Jyoti Jagran Santhan (DJJS) a cult of thugs, on the same page as Dera Sauda Sirsa had clashed with Sikh activists of Satkar Committee in Ghuman town on Saturday evening, leaving 10 injured.
This lead to day long patrolling of the town by the police party lead by Senior officers, including SSP Opinderjit Singh Ghuman.
It is claimed by the media that the DJJS cult supporters were caring out an anti-drug campaign before having a verbal argument that lead to the clash with the Sikh activists of Satkar Committee, in which 10 supporters of the DJJS cult were reported hurt.
The injured persons were taken to the local Civil Hospital, from where they were referred to hospital in Amritsar.
Furthermore, the SSP while interacting with the media maintained that the activists of the Satkar Committee were objecting to the DJJS cult followers’ decision to visit homes of addicts, claiming their privacy would be intruded.
One of the cult supporter Jagbir Singh supposedly said that when he and other followers went to the Ghuman police station to lodge a complaint, they were attacked again with swords and other weapons.
A case has been registered against 20 Guru Granth Sahib committee members under Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntary causing hurt), 324 (causing injuries using sharp-edged weapons), 148 (rioting) and 149 (unlawful assembly) of the IPC, reads a quote from report published in an English vernacular.
