Chandigarh: Whilst openly expressing its defiance and non-cooperation with Justice Ranjit Singh Commission set up by the state government to probe the beadbi (sacrilege) incidents of Shri Guru Granth Sahib, the president, Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) SAD (B) Sukhbir Badal, in a communication to the Chairman of the Commission of Inquiry has “resolved not to reply.”
Sukhbir Badal in his excuse to the Chairman, Justice Ranjit Singh (retd) has reportedly said the “present commission is headed by a known Congressman who is a friend of Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.”
Furthermore, he maintained that he has not received the original communication “for which the reminder, now, had been sent”. Moreover, he stated that he did not even know the questions in the original one. The SAD (Badal) told the Chairman to “recuse yourself from chairing the commission,” notes The Tribune (TT) in its report.
