SGPC Not Paying Salaries to Staff of Several Education Institutions for Past 6 Months

Fatehgarh Sahib/ Chandigarh: There are reports that the staff members, including teachers, of various educational institutions run by the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) are working without payment salaries for past various month.

According to information released by Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), the SGPC has not released salaries of teachers and other staff members working at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Polytechnic College (Fatehgarh Sahib), Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College (Fatehgarh Sahib), Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University (Fatehgarh Sahib), Jhar Sahib College (District Ropar), besides some other institutions.

In a press release issued today (copy available with Sikh Siyasat News), Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) president Simranjit Singh Mann accused SGPC’s Education Director Dr. J. S. Sidhu of corrupt practises and maintained that the alleged corruption has brought the educational institutions run by the SGPC at the verge of closure.

He said that if the SGPC fails to stop the alleged corrupt practises and remove corrupt persons from their posts then the SAD (A) would be compelled to chalk out an action plan to save the prestige of
