The opening of Kartarpur Sahib corridor is seen as a step towards long term peace in the region, particularly between India and Pakistan. The opening of Kartarpur Sahib corridor connecting Dera Baba Nanak in East Punjab with Kartarpur Sahib in West Punjab, will work as a link across the Redcliff line allowing devotees from Eastern side to enter Pakistan without visa and to visit Guru Nanak Ji’s sacred place- Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur Sahib. Five thousand people will pass through the corridor on daily basis to pay obeisance at Kartarpur Sahib.

High alerts have been issued in across the region. The case pertains to a land dispute between Hindu and Muslim parties who have challenged the Allahabad High Court judgement that had divided the disputed land into three parts.
