Delhi Sikhs want implementation of Right to Information Act in DSGMC

New Delhi, India (January 25, 2013): According to a Sikh24.Com news report various Sikhs under the banner of Gurudwara Sudhar Lehar, have written a letter to leaders of different parties taking part in the upcoming DSGMC election. The Gurdwara Sudhar Lehar has asked these leaders to provide their commitment to implement the RTI Act in the Delhi Gurdwara Management Committee.

Basics requirements of the RTI (Right to Information) are as follows and representatives are requesting the DSGMC leaders to implement these to the minimum, along with other promises being made by them.

  • Only Sikh scholars should be appointed as chairmen of DSGMC run educational institutions. These members may not necessarily be the members of the DSGMC.
  • The financial statement of DSGMC would be posted on online every month.
  • Important decisions taken by the DSGMC would be published on its website every week.
  • The RTI (Right to Information) act would be implemented and all decisions taken by DSGMC would be made available to all Sikhs.
