New York, USA: Sikh Research Institute’s upcoming webinar will focus on Sikh Education. “A conversation about Sikh Eduction” webinar will be conducted on September 26, 2015 from 12 to 1:30 pm EDT.
What is the presentation about?
There are 30 Million Sikhs in the world today who yearn for a deep and personal connection with their faith. Anyone who has been engaged in Sikh education is painfully aware of the challenges we face, both in terms of access to high quality educational content and qualified teachers to deliver this content in a scalable manner.
Sarbpreet Singh, who has been mentoring young Sikhs for twenty-five years, will make presentation about Sikh Education, in which he will talk about his personal journey as a teacher and offer new ideas for meeting the challenges that we are all so familiar with, through Sikhia, a bold new initiative to redefine Sikh education.
Who is the presenter?
Sarbpreet Singh is a playwright commentator and poet, who has been writing while pursuing a career in technology. He is the founder and director of the Gurmat Sangit Project, a non-profit dedicated to the preservation of traditional Sikh music and serves on the boards of various non-profits focused on service and social justice. He started working with young Sikhs at the Bridgewater, Guruduara Sahib and has been teaching Gurmat Sangit and Sikh History for several years at the Milford (Boston area) Khalsa School.
