Mumbai, India (February 02, 2014): As per media reports Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas has once again landed in trouble. Kumar Vishwas landed in trouble “this time for allegedly insulting the Sikh community”, reports Daily Mail.

“Sikh businessman Manjit Singh Abrol, 56, has filed the case against Vishwas at the Chembur police station after watching a video that showed Vishwas allegedly making fun of the community during a show some years ago” a report published on Daily Mail on January 28 reads.

According to Mumbai Mirror: Majit Singh Abroi said he chanced upon the video through WatsApp on January 2 and finally saw it on January 15, while clearing his downloads folder. He then consulted other community members before deciding to file a formal complaint. Reportedly, Vishwas’ remarks were derogatory to the community’s spiritual leader.

“After receiving a consensus on the issue, I dispatched letters to the Home Ministry, Mumbai police commissioner, deputy police commissioner and local police station. I received a call from Chembur police station on Sunday and the officials asked me to record my statement after which an FIR was registered,” Manjit Singh Abrol reportedly added.

According to Mumbai Mirror: Chembur police is trying to ascertain the date on which the latest comments were made, along with the location. “We have to find out who uploaded the video and the location. We will then submit a report to that particular police station. If need be, we will call Vishwas to record his statement,” said police inspector Shahshi Kamble.

“The video is clearly derogatory and has hurt the sentiments of our community,” complainent Manjit Singh Abrol, reportedly said.

On the other hand AAP leaders see the complaints against Vishwas as completely “motivated”.

Defending his fellow party member, Maharashtra’s AAP convenor Mayank Gandhi said, “These complaints appear to be politically motivated. Vishwas, in his earlier avatar as a poet, may have said things which were not in good taste. But they are not related to AAP. He has apologised for them. This sudden rise in complaints seems to be politically motivated, as people are worried that AAP will come to power in Maharashtra.”

It may be recalled that an old video recording of Kumar Vishwas surfaced on YouTube few months back in which he could be seen as making derogatory statements towards Sikh and Muslim religion.
