Capt. Amrinder says: 2 AAP MPs have naxalite background

Badal compare it with Collapsing house

Moga, Punjab (June 02, 2014): The surprising performance of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab in recent Lok Sabha elections seems to have not been digested by traditional rivals in Punjab former chief minister Captain Amrinder Singh and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. Both the rival leaders have trained their guns towards AAP.

Former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh alleged on Saturday that several AAP leaders, including its two MPs, were active in Naxalite movement. He mentioned names of Patiala MP Dr Dharamvira Gandhi and Faridkot MP Prof Sadhu Singh in his statement while meeting his supporters in Patiala. Following his statement, AAP leader Manjit Singh asked him to apologize for calling them Naxalites on Sunday.

Few hours after the statement was released by the AAP, captain denied apologizing. He dared AAP leaders to deny the fact of involvement of AAP leaders in naxalite movement.

“Dharamvira Gandhi, Sadhu Singh and another leader Dr Balbir Singh were actively involved in CPI-ML, an ultra-left extremist organization. I am going to reveal more information about the AAP leaders shortly”, said former chief minister.

On the other hand, he clarified that he had not mentioned name of Dr Daljeet Singh from Amritsar in his statement. He said he will soon come out with more details about other Naxalites in AAP.

While claiming that Amarinder’s statement was result of frustration out of defeat of Preneet Kaur in Lok Sabha elections in Patiala, Dr Gandhi and Dr Balbir Singh at a press conference on Sunday urged Amarinder not to make personal attacks on AAP leaders.

Parkash Singh Badal also attacked AAP by comparing the new party with collapsing house, whose leaders are leaving the house one after another. Talking to media persons on the sidelines of Sangat Darshan at Talwandi Sabo Punjab assembly segment, senior Badal said, “AAP has no healthy political ideology or healthy political approach. It is just a group of activists, who are leaving the party one by one”.

Comparing the AAP with collapsing house, he said, “The top leaders are submitting their resignations as occupants leave a collapsing house. There is no democratic ideology in the party and the AAP house would fell down soon”.

At the same time, AAP is also facing “resignation trend” within party as top/ India level leaders have resigned from the party. Similarly, there is wrong at the bottom in Punjab body as well. There were reports that Lawyer HS Phoolka was designated as convener of Punjab body and the decision was withdrawn by making Manish Sisodia incharge to Punjab to form new body of Punjab unit. In this situation it would be big challenge for Aam Aadmi Party to retain the response it received in Punjab during recently held Lok Sabha elections.
