AAP leader HS Phoolka want Jathedar to “order” Badal to start SIT as was promised during Nirpreet Kaur’s hunger strike

Moga, Punjab (June 15, 2014): Reminding him of his promise which he made to Nirpreet Kaur at the time of opening his hunger strike at New Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party leader and Supreme Court lawyer HS Phoolka has written a letter to Akal Takhat Jathedar. In May 2013, Nirpreet Kaur had started fast unto death during a protest Dharna by Sikhs of New Delhi seeking justice for November 1984 Sikh genocide while AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Kumar Vishwas and BJP’s then president of Delhi unit Vijay Goyal also sit on the hunger strike but at the last moment, Badal Dal “highjacked” the protest and its president Sukhbir Badal “captured” the show, During the presence of Sukhbir Badal and other leaders of Badal Dal Akal Takhat Jathedar Gurbachan Singh “ordered” Nirpreet Kaur to end her stir and he took “responsibility” to take up matter with SAD and government to get justice for Sikh genocide.

Phoolka, who was part of the protest and was fighting the cases of victims of genocide, in his letter, remembered the Jathedar his promise and requested him to direct Badals to put pressure on Modi government as per the demands of Nirpreet Kaur and other Sikh protesters.

“Nanavati commission had reported that police had closed 241 cases as untraced and 237 of those should be reopened. The commission asked the CBI to open jus four cases”, he wrote.

“Files of a closed case against Sajjan Kumar are eating dust at Naangloi police station for 22 years and challan is still to be submitted in the court”, he added in his letter.

“You had taken responsibility of demands to be met while ordering Nirpreet Kaur to end her stir. Kindly do efforts to get justice now”, he requested in his letter adding that he (jathedar) should order Badal to start SIT, which Arvind Kejriwal had ordered.
