AAP will oppose draconian Land Acquisition Bill tooth and nail: Harinder Singh Khalsa

Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Fatehgarh Sahib MP S. Harinder Singh Khalsa declared that AAP will oppose the draconian Land Acquisition Bill brought by the NDA Govt with all its might. He was leading a protest by AAP volunteers and farmers against this new bill at the DC Office Ludhiana today.
S. Harinder Singh Khalsa said that the earlier bill proposed by the Congress Lead UPA Govt was seriously flawed and anti-farmer. The new legislation which the NDA Govt has brought in will be totally devastating and will ruin the lives and livelihoods of millions of farmers and farm workers. This Govt has taken and already bad Law and worked upon it to make it even worse.

While campaigning for the Lok Sabha Elections the Badal-BJP combine had claimed that it would do its best to protect farmers and agriculture sector, but soon after coming to power they have shown their true colors and have sold out the farmers to big industrial houses. If this Law is passed it would spell doom for farmers who will have no power or option but to surrender their lands to the big business houses who will be supported by the machinations of the Govt. This new Law robs the farmers of their fundamental right to livelihood.
“AAP will oppose this draconian Law tooth and nail and today’s protest is just the beginning of a nationwide mobilization which the party will start next and the party will hold a national level protest against this law on the 22nd April in New Delhi. AAP will never allow the Govt to trample upon the rights of farmers who toil day and night to feed the nation, so that the NDA Govt can appease its corporate donors”, he said.
