ABP News’ drama depicting Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwlae in bad light evokes strong resentment from the Sikh nation

Gurmat Taksal Sikh students stages protest against ABP News Channel

Srinagar, Kashmir (October 14, 2013): According to media reports scores of Sikh students from Gurmat Taksal staged a protest against an Indian news channel named ABP News (formerly Star News) for propagating against Sikh martyr Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale.

Amid showers and chill, the protesters raised slogans against Indian media and alleged that ABP News channel attempted to make character-assassination of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

“A news channel on its show titled, ‘Pradhanmantri’ depicted Great Sikh of 20th Century Sant Bhindranwale as criminal. An actor posed himself as Sant Bhindranwale. No one has right to play his role. The Channel not only offended our sentiments but also attempted to presented Sant Ji in bad name” one of the protesters Malkeet Singh reportedly told certain media persons.

Amid pro-Khalistan slogans the protesters sought unconditional apology from the organizers of the Show.
