Rampura, Bathinda (December 01, 2012): According to information available with Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) Akali Dal Panch Pardhani’s vice president Baba Hardeep Singh Mehraj has been subjected to house-arrest for past five days.
Around 50 police personnel have camped at the resident of Baba Hardeep Singh, whose movements have been restricted to the four walls of the house.
“Police arrived at our residence at around 9 pm on November 26, 2012. Police did not tender any reason for their action. They did not even showed any written order in this regard”, Baba Hardeep Singh told SSN over phone.
Baba Mehraj added that one Randip Singh D.S.P. said that the police has received the orders from higher authorities.
According to Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, Press Secretary of Akali Dal Panch Pardhani (ADPP), police parties led by Kabal Singh, in-charge Police station Rampura; Gurjant Singh, A.S.I, Bathinda; Kaur Singh, A.S.I, Rampura have put Baba Hardeep Singh under house-arrest.
It is notable that Baba Hardeep Singh Mehraj was selected as Vice-President of ADPP in August 2012 when Bhai Kulbir Singh Barapind was elected as President of Panch Pardhani.
Baba Hardeep Singh is engaged in socio-religious actives and he has been actively leading peaceful struggle against notorious activities of state sponsored cults/deras that were declared “anti-Sikh” by Sri Akal Takhat Sahib.
