AISSF claims to have witnesses against Amitabh Bachchan, gives call to boycott his shows

Amritsar, Punjab: Troubles for Bollywood mega star Amitabh Bachchan grows further on Wednesday after All India Sikh Students Federation (Peermohammad) not only demanded to book a criminal case against the star for allegedly raising provocative slogan on October 31st , 1984 but also appealed to people to boycott his TV shows and films.

Earlier on November 27th, a US court had issued summons to Amitabh for allegedly instigating the 1984 call for violence which was followed by demand to arrest him by Jagdish Kaur, prime witness in case of 1984 anti Sikh riots involving Sajjan Kumar.
“At that time Amitabh Bachchan was mature enough to understand that it was real life and not reel life where he was raising a venomous slogan, the scars of which are still alive in the hearts of Sikhs especially among relatives of thousands of victims,” said Karnail Singh Peermohammad, president of Federation while talking to TOI.
He said after issuance of summons by a US court against Amitabh, it becomes duty of government of India to book Amitabh Bachchan at the earliest and trial his case in fast track court. “We will produce witnesses against him,” said Peermohammad.
He said Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee that had always been claiming to fight for getting justice for the victims of 1984 pogrom should rise to the occasion and take lead in pursuing case against Amitabh.
“If no action is taken then we will gherao Amitabh whenever he would visit Punjab and we also appeal to people across India to boycott Amitabh’s TV shows and films,” he said.
