Akal Takht Designates 6 Member Committee to Take Stock of Situation in Delhi

Amritsar: The Akal Takht Sahib has designated a 6 member committee to take stock of situation in Delhi. Acting Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Harpreet Singh issued a written release today declaring that he has designated a six member committee comprising DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Senior Advocate Harwinder Singh Phoolka, former diplomat and ex-vice chancellor of Punjabi University (Patiala) Dr. Jaspal Singh, former Minorities Commission chairman Tirlochan Singh, senior vice president of DSGMC Bibi Ranjit Kaur and General Secretary of DSGMC Harmeet Singh Kalka.

The committee will visit violence affected areas of Delhi and take stock of situation and where ever necessary, with the help of Pathic organisations, will make efforts to bring peace, reads the press release (issued in Gurmukhi).
The committee will also assess damage or loss suffered by Sikhs due to Delhi violence and submit its report to the Akal Takht Sahib secretariat.
