Khadoor Sahib, Punjab (March 01, 2014): Nishan-E-Sikhi Charitable Trust , Khadur Sahib being run under the chairmanship of environmentalist Baba Sewa Singh Karsewa Wale, launched its quarterly magazine ‘Nishan-E-Sikhi’, the first issue of which was released by Giani Gurbachan Singh, Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib in a Gurmat Samagam (Congregation) organized held by Dera Kaar Sewa on Friday (February 28).
The congregation was held in memory of Sant Baba Gurmukh Singh, founder of Karsewa sect and Saints of Karsewa namely Baba Sadhu Singh, Baba Jhanda Singh, Baba Uttam Singh and Baba Amar Singh.
After releasing the magazine, the head of highest temporal seat of Sikhs Giani Gurbachan Singh who was accompanied by Giani Mal Singh, Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Giani Joginder Singh Vedanti, former Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Baba Avtar Singh Sursingh Wale, head of Nihang Singh Dal Baba Bidhi Chand, said “publication of Punjabi magazine possesses big importance as Guru Angad Dev, second Guru of the Sikhs, provide linguistic machanism to Punjabi language and form first systematic alphabet of Gurmukhi script on this sacred place. Not only this, he too established first school of Gurmukhi. Besides, He made arrangement of publishing Sikh literature in form ‘Janam Sakhis’ (history of Guru Nanak Ji)”.
