Akhand Kirtani Jatha (UK) congratulated Panth over the success of Amb Sahib Morcha

Birmingham, United Kingdom (December 28, 2013): According to a press release sent to the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) by S. Kulwant Singh Dhesi the Akhand Kirtani Jatha (UK) has congratulated the Sikh panth over the success of Amb Sahib Morcha that was started by Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa.

According to the the press release Bhai Raghbir Singh of Akhand Kirtani Jatha (UK) and other Sikh leaders of UK including Bhai Joga Singh, Rajinder Singh Purewal, Avtar Singh Sanghera, Balbir Singh Babbar, Kulwant Singh Dhesi and Tarsem Singh Deol praised Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa for his determination and successfully completing 44 days of complete hunger strike.

These leaders also extended special thanks to Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema, Bhai R. P. Singh, Advocate Amar Singh Chahal, Gurnam Singh Sidhu, Satnam Singh Paunta Sahib, Bibi Kulbir Kaur Dhami and Karnail Singh Peermohammad for their earnest efforts for the success of the morcha.

It is notable that the morcha was started by Gurbaksh Singh on November 14, 2013 for the release of six Sikh prisoners who were sentenced to imprisonment for life but were not being granted permanent release. Many of them were not even granted paroles.

Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa ended his hunger strike on December 27 after four of the concerned Sikh prisoners were granted temporary release on parole.
