Amarinder Singh Seeks Help From Indian PM Modi For 550th Prakash Purab Of Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has sent a written requested to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking special assistance for the commemoration of the 550th anniversary of the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and urging him to constitute an organizing committee for the preparation.

While the state government was preparing a detailed report, which would be submitted to the Indian prime minister shortly, the Chief Minister sought special assistance from the Government of India to facilitate the state government in planning and executing the commemorative and infrastructure projects needed for the occasion, especially in places associated with the life of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji.

Furthermore, the state government stated that Amarinder Singh, had decided to commemorate the event in a befitting manner so that the teachings and message of the great Guru sahib could be showcased not just to the people of India but also the rest of the world. A state-level committee had been constituted to draw up an action plan and a programme of events, he informed the prime minister, noting that “we are fortunate to celebrate the 550th anniversary of the Prakash Utsav of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, which falls in 2019.
