Hoshiarpur: Arrested Sikh journalist Bhupinder Singh Sajjan was released from Hoshiarpur jail on Thursday (April 23) evening after the court granted him bail.
Notably, Bhupinder Singh Sajjan who runs Apna Sanjha Punjab (ASP) web-channel, was arrested on April 12 evening after Patiala Sabzi Mandi clash between Punjab police and Nihang Singhs.
Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta had announced arrest of Bhupinder Singh Sajjan along with two others on April 13. DGP had stated that Bhupinder Singh Sajjan was arrested from Hoshiarpur while who others were arrested from Batala and Malout. They were booked in three separate cases for broadcasting or posting over social media.
Sikh Relief, a legal aid NGO, said that it had engaged lawyers for Bhupinder Singh Sajjan after which he was granted bail by a Hoshiarpur court.
