Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal has announced to take direct charge of AAP in Punjab for Punjab Polls 2017. The announcement came in form of a video message from Arvind Kejriwal that was uploaded on social media websites.
“I am visiting Punjab from September 8 to 11. After that I have to undergo a surgery and I will be away for 10 days. Later I will take direct charge of the party affairs in Punjab for Punjab Polls 2017,” Kejriwal said.
The announcement came during a time when AAP’s Punjab unit is believed to have suffered considerable damage by ousting AAP state convenor Sucha Singh Chhotepur and failing to seal a deal with former BJP MP Navjot Sidhu, SAD (B) MLA Pargat Singh and Ludhiana MLAs Balwinder Bains and Simarjit Bains.
