Attacks on minorities and struggling nationalities on the rise under Modi rule

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Movement (JKPM) has strongly condemned the killing of Sikh youngster Bhai Jashjeet Singh by Jammu police. Jashjeet Singh was shot dead by Jammu police on June 04. He was shot in head and he had died on spot.

JKPM maintianed that various religious minorities forced to live in a state of fear since Narandera Modi took over reins of the country.

Reacting to the killing of Bhai Jashjeet Singh in Jammu, Senior Hurriyat leader and JKPM working chairman Mir Shahid Saleem said that the Modi Government at the centre trying to crush the identity and aspirations of the minorities across India by using the brute force of the state machinery.

He alleged that ever since the coming to power of the BJP led government at the centre, the Muslims, Christians, Sikhs and other minorities across India have been forced to live in a “state perpetual fear and terror”.

He further said the Sikhs who have long been fighting for their national identity and political aspirations have always been given the most inhuman and brutal treatment.

He strongly condemned the use of brute force against the Sikh protestors who were denied to pay the tributes to one of their heroes, sant Jarnail Singh Bindhranwala.

Earlier Mir Shahid Saleem led a three member party delegation to the family of victim Jashjeet Singh who was killed by police on June 04.

Talking to the family members of the deceased the Hurriyat leader said it was time for the all Indian minorities to wake up and get united against the communal agenda of the saffron forces. He said today not a single minority was feeling safe in India under the shadow of RSS and their religious, cultural and ethnic identity was under the severe threat.

Meanwhile the JKPM has also condemned the brutal murder of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat worker Sheikh Altaful Rehman of Sopore and demanded a strict action against the killers of the political activists. The JKPM leader said intelligence agencies in Kashmir have long been involved in the selective killings of the political and human rights activists and brutal murder of the Sheikh Altaf Rehman may also be the handiwork of the same forces.
