Attempt to abduct/ kidnap Shashi Kant foiled; CHD police arrest some persons; Punjab police behind it – Shashi Kant

Chandigarh/ Punjab (January 10, 2014): According to a news reported by P7 News, some persons made an attempt to kidnap Shashi Kant former DGP (Prisons) Punjab. The news channel has reported that Chandigarh police have arrested some persons in relation to this incident.

Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) sources revealed that Shashi Kant has said that the incident took place in the morning when he went out of his house for a walk. Shashi Kant said that he spotted certain groups of suspicious persons outside his house.
Suspecting the situation Shashi Kant reportedly informed the Chandigarh police who reached the spot in time and averted the incident.
As per information Chandgarh police nabbed some persons on the spot while others were able to flee. Sources informed that some private vehicles with police strikers have also been taken into custody by the Chandigarh police.
While addressing the media at his house former DGP Shashi Kant accused Punjab police for the incident. He said that the incident was motivated by recent developments in drug racket case.

It may be recalled that arrested druglord Jadish Bhola has recently affirmed the allegations leveled by Shashi Kant that Punjab Cabinet ministers were involved in drugs trade in Punjab. Notably Jagdish Bhola has disclosed the name of Bikram Majithia as patron of drug trade in Majha region of Punjab, whereas Badal Dal and Punjab police has been rejecting these allegations as baseless.
