“I have quit marathons but I will continue to run. Running is my addiction and I am alive because of this activity” Baba Fauja Singh reportedly said at a press conference at Melbourne on March 23, 2013.

“I am growing old and losing weight,” he said, giving reasons why he decided to quit.

“The world’s oldest marathon runner arrived from London yesterday to support the Royal Children’s Hospital’s Good Friday Appeal” it added.

“Running is my medicine, it’s my addiction,” said Baba Fauja Singh, who rediscovered his passion for running at 81 after the death of his wife and youngest son.
