Badal, Sarna be called at Akal Takht: Sant Samaj head

December 12, 2009 | By

Amritsar (December 12, 2009): As per some media reports a prominent Sikh body today demanded that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Delhi Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DSGPC) head Paramjit Singh Sarna be summoned at Akal Takht for their ”failure to safeguard the Sikh interests”. Head of Gurmat Siddhant Pracharak Sant Samaj, Baba Harnam Singh Dhuma, who also heads Damdami Taksal, said here today that a resolution to this effect was passed in the meeting of Sant Samaj held at Chawk Mehta, the headquarters of Damdami Taksal here today.

The meeting also demanded that those guilty for the recent Ludhiana violence in which one Sikh was killed, be punished by December 30. ”If prompt action was not taken against the guilty by then, the Sant Samaj would organise a massive protest march from Fatehgarh Sahib to Chandigarh on December 30,” Baba Harnam Singh is said to have declared by the News Published on the Website of the Central Cronicle. News published with reference to Agencies further marks that Baba Harnam Singh said that “the meeting also felt that those at the helm of affairs in SGPC had failed to perform their duty of religious preaching.” The SGPC should have supported the Sant Samaj in its struggle for Sikh cause, he added.

”Now only such people with clean image, who are genuinely interested in spreading the message of Gurgranth Sahib, should come forward to contest the SGPC polls,” the Damdami Taksal chief said.
