Badals not saviours of Punjab or Punjab Waters: Dal Khalsa

March 20, 2016 | By

Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) has announced to ‘honor’ Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal with ‘Saviour of Punjab’ award. CM Badal’s son Sukhbir Badal, who is deputy CM of Punjab, will be awarded with ‘Saviour of Punjab Waters’ award at Anandpur Sahib on Holla Mohalla.

The move has invited strong criticism from Sikh organization Dal Khalsa. In a statement released today Dal Khalsa leaders Satnam Singh Paunta Sahib, Kanwarpal Singh Bittu, Avtar Singh Nirotampur and Ranbir Singh said that the Badal family has lotted Punjab and its stand on Punjab has been compromising, incompetent and opportunistic.

Dal Khalsa leaders said that the Badal family did not make any specific efforts to save river waters of Punjab rather the Badal family, which controls the ruling party of Punjab has been trying to rebuilt lost image of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) using the issue of Satluj Yamuna Link Canal.
