Balwant Singh Rajoana to field sister Kamaldeep Kaur from Patiala in Lok Sabha elections

Patiala, Punjab (October 19, 2013): According to a news reported by YesPunjab, a news portal by a senior journalist, Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana […] has decided to field his sister Kamaldeep Kaur from Patiala parliamentary constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
“Kamaldeep Kaur would be fighting this election as an independent candidate”, YesPunjab news reads furhter.

Sources said that an announce- ment to this effect would be made at a press conference in Patiala likely to be addressed by Kamaldeep Kaur and some other people on behalf of Balwant Singh Rajoana.
Earlier Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana had reportedly announced to field a candidate either from Patiala or Anandpur Sahib a few days earlier. He had handed over a letter to his sister expressing his wish to field his own candidate from either of the above constituencies.
Kamaldeep Kaur, when reportedly contacted by YesPunjab.Com, said that she would obey every order of his brother. She said the family was surprised when Bhai Rajoana conveyed his decision to field his own candidate but the authority to take any decision, whatsoever rests with Bhai Rajoana only.
Answering a query about the reason behind fielding someone as his own candidate instead of supporting any party or group, Kamaldeep Kaur said Balwant Singh Rajoana took this decision as he was upset over the policies and attitude of the government and the political parties particularly those relating to Sikh issues.
Balwant Singh Rajoana, in his letter, announcing his decision to field a candidate for upcoming polls had blamed the national leaders for ignoring real issues such as increasing corruption and criminalization of politics.
Kamaldeep Kaur claimed that Bhai Rajoana’s candidate will contest the election without distributing money, liquor, drugs and other things like the prevailing trend. She said that the poll campaign would focus on issues relating to Sikh religion.
