Ludhiana: A death hoax about Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa today hit social networks, primarily whatsapp. Soon after Bapu Surat Singh’s family came to know that a false message about Bapu Surat Singh was being spread through wahtsapp, they posted an update on official Facebook page related to of Bapu Surat Singh’s struggle for the Sikh Political prisoners.

A status updated by administrators of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s page reads as follows:
“Health Update- Sadh Sangat Ji, Bapu Surat Singh Ji is in chardikala. Humble request to please ignore any false rumors of Bapu Ji’s shaheedi. If there is an urgent update,

Bibi Sarvinder Kaur, daughter of Bapu Surat Singh told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that her father’s condition is stable though he has not shown much improvement for past few days.
“Doctors are injecting glucose into his body but even then there is not much improvement as he is not even drinking water orally” she said.
She said that some government officials met her during last two days but there was not much progress on talks about release of Sikh political prisoners. “All the Sangharsh Committee members are jailed by the government, how talks can take place in this situation” she asked.
