“Bargari Morcha” Candidate from Anandpur Sahib Joins BSP

Chandigarh: Vikramjit Singh Sodhi, who was announced as candidate for Lok Sabha elections from Anandpur Sahib constituency, reportedly joined Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) yesterday (Feb. 17) in the presence of its’ Punjab unit president Rashpal Singh Raju.

The candidature of Vikramjit Singh Sodhi was announced by Bhai Dhian Singh Mand himself on February 6. Bhai Dhian Singh Mand had maintained that contesting Lok Sabha elections was the ‘next phase’ of Bargari Insaaf Morcha. He had announced 3 other candidates – Simranjit Singh Mann from Sangrur, Mohkam Singh from Khadoor Sahib and Gurdeep Singh Bathinda from Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency. 

BSP Punjab president said that their party will contest elections in alliance with Punjabi Ekta Party (PEP) led by AAP rebel Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) led by Bains Brothers of Ludhiana, Bargari Insaaf Morcha led by Bhai Dhian Singh Mand and United Akali Dal led by Mohkam Singh. He said that these parties have formed an alliance named Punjab Democratic Alliance (PDA).

Though a decision related to allocation of seats has not been finalised to date, the PDA has unanimously decided to leave Anandpur Sahib parliamentary seat for the BSP, he said.
