Beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib Ji at village Jahangir in Amritsar

Amritsar: Another saddening and disturbing incident of beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib Ji is reported from village Jahangir on Saturday evening.

The gurdwara management committee members found the torn Angs of Guru Granth Sahib. The committee members maintain that someone seem to have tried to burn the Angs of Guru Granth Sahib as well. Confirming the incident Amritsar (Rural) SSP Jasdeep Singh said that even a matchstick was also recovered from the spot.

As per media reports a case has been registered against unidentified persons under Section 295 (injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on Saturday night.

The Sikh bodies have expressed outrage over the repeated incidents of beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib ji in Punjab.
