Behbal Kalan Firing: Justice Zora Singh Commission likely to submit report on June 30

Chandigarh: An enquiry commission appointed by the Punjab government has reportedly finished it’s probe into Behbal Kalan police firing incident and related events. According to certain media reports, the one man commission headed by Justice Zora Singh will handover its probe to Punjab’s chief home secretary on June 30.

Justice Zora Singh Commission was formed by the Badal government in October 2015 and it was asked to hand over the report with in three months. However, the commission had failed to even initiate its probe with in three months. The term of commission was extended by the government.

Notably Justice (retd.) Markandey Katju led “People’s Commission”, formed by various Human Rights organisations of Punjab, has already release its probe report. Justice Katju commission held the police responsible for the Behbal Kalan incident in which two Sikhs were killed in police firing.
