Bhai Dhian Singh Mand granted bail by Ferozepur Sessions Court

Ferozepur: Bhai Dhian Singh Mand, who was declared to be acting Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib by the organizers of the Sarbat Khalsa 2015, has reportedly been granted bail by a Sessions court in Ferozepur. Bhai Mand who is a former MP and a former senior leader of Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) is facing a case related to protest demonstration held in October 2015 at Harike-pattan.

Bhai Dhain Singh Mand, who was represented by his council Advocate Basant Lal Malhotra, was granted bail by the court of justice H. S. Grewal.

Notably, Bhai Dhian Singh Mand was arrested on November 11 after he addressed a gathering of Sikhs at Akal Takht Sahib on Bandi Chhor Day. He was booked under sedition for participating in Sarbat Khalsa 2015. He was granted bail by the High Court in the sedition case but he was arrested by the Ferozepur police soon after he was released from Maximum security jail Nabha.

SAD (Maan) chief S. Simranjeet Singh Mann has appealed to the Sikh sangat to welcome Bhai Dhian Singh Mand’s release form the prison. He said that all newly appointed jathedars will hold a meeting after release of Bhai Dhain Singh Mand to make important announcements.
