Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara acquitted in 25 years old TADA case by Ropar court

Ropar, Punjab: A local court in Ropar today acquitted Sikh political prisoner Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara in a case that was registered under TADA and Arms Acts in 1992. The case was heard by Additional District and Sessions Judge through video conferencing.

Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara was facing five cases in Ropar’s local courts. He has been acquitted in all cases.

The prosecution had alleged that he was involved in an encounter with the police on December 21, 1992, near Gurdwara Garhi Sahib in Chamkaur Sahib.
