Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara acquitted in Bhajan Lal Attempt to Assasinate case

Chandigarh: While accepting the appeal of defense, the High Court has reportedly acquitted Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) in a 1995 case. The case was related to an alleged attempt to assassinate former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal in 1995.

In 2007, A Sessions Court had awarded ten years imprisonment to Jagtar Singh Hawara and four others in this case.

The Ambala police in 1995 had registered a case against 13 persons, including two women while claiming to have foiled a conspiracy to assassinate Bhajan Lal.

Others who are acquitted in the case are Hukam Singh, Malak Singh, Kulbir Singh and Gurjeet Singh.
