Patiala: The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) has taken notice of a video that went viral over social media, in which Bikram College of Commerce (Patiala) Principal was seen as denying permissions from holding Akhand Paath Sahib inside the college campus. In that video principal was seen as saying that the college was a ‘secular’ place and she could not allow students to hold Akhand Paath Sahib at the college campus.
In a statement issued today, SGPC chief Kirpal Singh Badungar criticised the principal and said that instead the students should be encouraged to seek guidance from the Gurbani.
He said that the SGPC has setup a sub-committee comprising Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib head granthi Bhai Parnam Singh, Pracharak Bhai Sukhbir Singh, Lakhwinder Singh and Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib manager S. Bhagwant Singh to probe the matter.
