Amritsar, Punjab (May 07, 2014): Dal Khalsa spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh has said accused Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) leadet Bikram Majithia for defying and defeating the very spirit of tankha and making light of it.

He said Majithia was trying to take mileage out of it. The manner in which he has performed sewa at both the takhat’s reflect that there was no humbleness in him. Moreover his moving from one Takht to another at chopper displays his VVIP mentality.

Although the Jathedar Akal Takht has handed over the tankha to Bikram Majithia as per Sikh Reht Maryada (Page 39 The Sikh code of conduct) and the main spirit behind was to make him humble and to realize him his blunder but unfortunately Majithia continues to be as arrogant as before.

To a question, he said when a Sikh devotee voluntarily perform sewa in the langar, it is a service. When a Sikh goes to a Gurdwara to listen or recite Gurbani it is a devotion. However when the Akal Takht orders a guilty or defaulter to clear utensils, perform sewa at langar or listen to Gurbani as per the directive then it becomes expiatory sentence.

On the violation of maryada forcing the Ragi to perform Kirtan to suit the presence of Bikram Majithia, he has urged the Akal Takht to seek explanation from the SGPC.
