Amritsar, Punjab (April 28, 2014): It is learnt that Punjab’s Revenue Minister and Badal Dal leader Bikram Majithia submitted his ‘apology’ to the Jathedar Akal Takht on April 26 for distorting a Shabad while canvassing for Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP)’s Amritsar candidate Arun Jaitley.

Jathedar Akal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh said, “the issue would be discussed in the meeting of five Jathedars in the coming days and Bikram Majithia will have to appear before the Jathedars on being summoned.”

Bikram Majithia had, on April 25, distorted a Shabad of Guru Gobind Singh to tailor it to suit his wish for Hindutva ideologue Arun Jaitley’s election victory.
