Amritsar, Punjab (April 29, 2014): It is learnt that the Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh has directed the Punjab Cabinet Minister Bikram Majithia to appear before the Akal Takht Sahib on May 1.
As per information a meeting of the Jathedars of the five Sikh takhts, including Takht Sri Hazur Sahib and Takht Sri Patna Sahib, has also been called on the same day.
According to information the Jathedars of the five takhts will discuss the apology tendered by Bikram Majithia for distorting a ‘shabad’ of Guru Gobind Singh, while addressing an election rally of BJP candidate, Arun Jaitley.
Akal Takht jathedar Gurbachan Singh reportedly told some selected press reporters, “We will discuss the written apology tendered by Majithia and seek his views on the matter as well”. On being asked whether he endorsed the edict issued by Takht Sri Hazur Sahib declaring Bikram Majithia as ‘tankhaiya’, the jathedar replied, “We will discuss this on May 1.”
