New Delhi, India (September 05, 2014): It seems that suspected political horse trading for Delhi assembly may get a chance to prevail over demands of fresh elections for the divided house. There are reports that the Lt. Governor of Delhi may call upon Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) to form the government.
BJP has 29 MLAs, down from 32 after three of it’s MLAs were elected as members of Indian Parliament in last Lok Sabha Elections. Aam Aadmi Aadmi (AAP) has 29 MLAs, while the Congress party has 8 in it’s bag. After December 2013 results the Aam Aadmi Party had formed government in Delhi with external support of the Congress party, but after running the government for 49 days Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the post and dissolved his government before Lok Sabha elections.
Now Aam Aadmi Party is accusing BJP for trying to evade fresh elections in Delhi. It is notable that during last Lok Sabha elections, held earlier this year, the BJP won all 7 parliamentary seats. But another that need to be noted there that there was a rise in the vote share of Aam Aadmi Party during the Lok Sabha elections.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders have been accusing BJP leadership for “horse trading” to lure AAP MLAs in order to gain their support for forming government in Delhi.
Recent media reports suggest that Delhi L-G Nazib Jung may invite BJP to prove their “majority” and form government in Delhi.
