Chandigarh: The Black Prince, a Hollywood bio-pic of Maharaja Duleep Singh was released globally yesterday. The movie was premiered at PVR Elante Mall in Chandigarh. The screening was attended by director Kavi Raj and star cast, including Satinder Sartaj and Shabana Azmi.

Talking to the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) about this movie, Sikh political analyst and author Bhai Ajmer Singh said that the movie makers were successful in breaking away the illusionary walls of the Indian Nationalism built around the Sikh psyche during last century.

“This film invokes the strong sense of loss of the sovereignty. It touches the sole and triggers a wave of strong feelings about the Sikh Raj”, he said in a telephonic conversation while adding that the young generation of Sikhs has a lot to learn and feel from this film.
