The Black Prince: Movie on Maharaja Duleep Singh’s Life to be Released Globally on May 19

Chandigarh: Satinder Sartaaj debut movie The Black Prince is set to hit screens globally on May 19, 2017. The Black Prince is based on true story of Maharaja Dalip Singh, Last King of Sikh Kingdom. After the tragic death of his father- Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the boy King of Punjab has torn away from his mother and brought to live amongst the British elite, the very people who claimed his Kingdom as their own.

Satinder Sartaj, who has played the lead role in The Black Prince, said that he has high hopes from the movie and is quite excited for the film’s release.

The movie will be released in three languages, English, Punjabi and Hindi.

Sartaj further revealed that he composed the lyrics of the songs in the film.

The movie will also see Shabana Azmi, portraying the role Dalip Singh’s mother, Maharani Jind Kaur.

The film has already been selected in several film festivals mainly Cinequest, Houston World-Fest, Bentonville Film Festival, London Independent film festival and International Film Festival of South Asia.
