Amritsar, Punjab (October 24, 2013): Joining issue with the Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, the Dal Khalsa today accused the Congress and the BJP for teasing the Sikhs at a time when it hurts the most.
As we reminisce the dark days of November 1984, the scion of the ruling family has chosen to call the death of her grandmother “victimization based on anger and hatred”, said Dal Khalsa spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh
Rahul while speaking in Rajasthan admitted that Satwant Singh and Beant Singh killed his grandmother Indira Gandhi one day in anger. However, Rahul has conveniently chosen not to mention the reasons for the anger, which his family, his government and the Congress continue to ignore to this day.
“His statement and reference is downright perilous and provocative. On the one hand Rahul bemoans that his mother Sonia Gandhi had admonished him for talking personal things in public and on the other he chooses to rub salt on festering wounds of Sikhs”.
He said Sikhs take strong exception to his mentioning hatred in the same breath. “It is the Congress and BJP that practice the politics of genocide and hatred, particularly with the minorities and marginalized sections of society.”
“Rahul Gandhi will do well to recall the massive all India hate campaign which his father Rajiv Gandhi unleashed through advertisement after advertisement, which resulted in his massive victory at the hustings in the 1985 general elections” added Kanwarpal Singh debunking the allegation of hatred against the Sikhs.
Not to be left behind, the BJP practiced the same through its Ram Mandir campaign and the Narendra Modi took a leaf straight out of the Congress book in first killing Muslims and then talking about peace and unity, he further said.
While Rahul Gandhi grieves for his father and grandmother, we express solidarity and offer solace to the thousands of Sikhs burnt alive and killed in the 1984 pogrom in Delhi and many other parts of the country.
