“Items such as desi ghee, sugar and pulses cost Rs 75 crore annually. With GST, the burden would rise by more than Rs 10 crore per year,” he added.

As per media reports SGPC has written to Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Additional Secretary, GST Council, Arun Goyal, seeking exemption from GST for the Sikh body for the purchase of langar material and other commodities for gurdwaras.
