Chandigarh: The Burail jail administration reportedly denied to present Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara before a local court in Burail Jail break case on February 24. Appearing for the jail administration deputy superintendent of Chandigarh Model Jail, Burail told the court that the Administrator of Chandigarh has placed a prohibitory orders under section 268 of Code of Criminal Procedure (Cr. P.C.) prohibiting Jagtar Singh Tara’s removal from the Burail Jail. He told the court that the orders were placed by Chandigarh administration in CM Beant Singh assessination case and Jagtar Singh Tara can not be moved out of Burail jail.
On the other hand public prosecutor who appeared in the court presenting prosecution version in Burail jailbreak case said that the orders placed under section 268 were placed in CM Beant Singh case years ago. He said that in view of change in circumstances, the government can remove such orders.
After hearing arguments on February 24 the court had fixed February 25 as next date of hearing.
While talking to Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone, Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara’s council Advocate Amar Singh Chahal said that in today’s (Feb. 25) hearing the court issued directions to the Burail jail administration to present Jagtar Singh Tara in the court on February 27.
