Charges Framed Against Dera Sauda Followers in a Beadbi Case

Fairidkot: A Faridkot court has framed charges against Dera Sauda Sirsa followers in case FIR number 89/2018 (police station Kotkapur.

Punjab police DIG and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) incharge Ranbir Singh Khattra disclosed that the case pertains to recovery of a Janam Sakhi, 25 shells of used bullets and a written chit from dera follower Mahinderpal Bittu’s house.

“After arrest of Mahinderpal Bittu last year, a raid was conducted at his residence where a Janam Sakhi was found kept at a very derogatory place along with 25 used bullet shells and a written chit directing Mahinderpal Bittu to target railways”, DIG Ranbir Singh Khattra told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone. “On the bases of these recoveries, a case was registered against Mahinderpal Bittu (now deceased), Shakti Singh and Sukhjinder Sunny under section 295A of Indian Penal Code along with relevant provisions of Arms Act and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA)”, he added.

The police had filed chargesheet against accused Dera Sirsa followers few months back and now the court has framed charges.

The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Harbans Singh Lekhi has fixed October 9 as next date of hearing in this case.

Dera Followers Want Case to be Transferred Out of Punjab:

Meanwhile, dera followers told the court that they have filed a petition in the Supreme Court of India to transfer cases against then to some court outside Punjab.
