Chandigarh: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh has reiterated that an independent probe into the alleged recruitment scandal will eventually lead to the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

He demanded immediate arrest of the alleged main suspect, Daya Singh Kolianwali, a close aide of the CM, lest he is made to run away by the Badals to destroy the evidence.

Citing the detained Badal Dal councillor Sham Lal Daddi’s confession to the Vigilance Bureau, Capt Amarinder in a statement issued here today said, it is clear that Daddi was acting in league with Kolianwali, who in turn is the frontman of Mr Badal and has been acting at his behest.

The PCC president who led a massive dharna at Lambi against the recruitment scandal on June 17, pointed out, “this is a confession made by an Akali councillor to the Vigilance Bureau which is under the direct control of the Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Badal, hence it has to be taken seriously and Kolianwali must be arrested immediately”. They cannot simply dismiss it as a Congress propaganda, he added.

The former Chief Minister said, once Kolianwali is arrested, everything will unfold within no time. He also apprehended that the Badals might make him flee and abscond to break the crucial link in the multi-crore recruitment scandal and destroy all the evidence.

Capt Amarinder reiterated that like in the previous tenure he caught hold of the Punjab Public Service Commission Chairman Ravi Sidhu over corruption, he will ensure that people like Kolianwali and those backing and patronising him met the same fate.
