Amritsar: Avtar Singh and Bikramjit Singh, who are arrested by the police in Aliwal blast case, were presented before a local court in Ajnala today after the expiry of their police remand. The police sought extension in their police remand for 15 more days.

The police plea for further extension of police remand was opposed by defense lawyers who pointed that there has been no recover from the arrested persons during the police custody of around two weeks.

The police said that it was able to trace “google footprints” of the arrested persons from their mobile devices and need their further custody.

Defence lawyer Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur said that the defence pointed out to the court that when the police claims that it has the information there was no reason to grant further police remand.

After hearing both sides the court send duo to police remand for six more days, he added.
